DC37 is one of the last generation of cylinder vacuum cleaner from Dyson. It integrates the patented Radial Root Cyclone™ as well as the Dyson ball technology for a better maneuverability.
While I was working for Dyson’s R&D, I took part on that project to help refine design details. The internal complexity of that assembly is key to achieve such an external simplicity. As usual in Dyson, the approach to problem solving was iterative, sketching ideas, making quick and dirty prototypes all the way down to CAD and rapid prototyping, testing it, breaking it and doing it all over again until it reaches perfection.
The refinement of the DC37 was my second project at Dyson and the fruit of a collaborative work with a team of about 10 people.
